Daniel was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and has called Arizona home since age six. He is married, has 4 kids, and enjoys spending time cooking, grilling, and smoking meat for his family and friends. To date, Daniel’s favorite and only concert has been the 2019 System of a Down Tour. He also enjoys watching movies, camping, and hitting heavy bags from time to time.
Daniel is a Board Certified Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He has worked in Behavioral Health since 2017 with experience in inpatient and outpatient settings. His education and training prepared him to work with individuals as young as 4 y/o all the way up to 94 y/o. Daniel completed his undergraduate work through Northern Arizona University and earned his Master’s Degree through Wilkes University. In order to provide a more holistic approach to treatment, Daniel is completing certification in Integrative Psychiatry through The University of Colorado School of Medicine and the Integrative Psychiatry Institute.
Daniel knows what it is like to have family members struggling with mental health disorders and feeling hopeless and unable to help, as well as being the one personally struggling with mental health disorders. He understands how difficult it can be to discuss past trauma and process negative events in one’s life. Because of this, he tries to make the individual as comfortable as he can and ensures that they know that they are in a judgment-free zone. Daniel’s holistic approach in treating mental health disorders is one based on the belief that even though emotional and physical trauma can damage and scar an individual, hard work, patience, the love of yourself and others can lead to growth that is stronger and more resilient. Mental crises can become turning points and the catalyst to the evolution into a stronger healthier individual as long as they have the best guidance. Daniel knows that this guidance requires a team of psychiatrists, therapists, and medical health providers to ensure that you are becoming the best you can be.
